In Our Story This Week - How Is Your Day Off Going -Let's Have Lunch
Are we enjoying the weather or if you are a sports fanatic like me ,Stanley Cup finals,NBA finals or the French Opens,this is so great!! By the way if you love sports it is another great way to connect with your man - great conversation and connection.
So I thought I should share today how romantic my sweet man is( by the way-In our section on Advice to the Lovelorn this week -you will see tips from Greg Michaels on how you know if your man is romantic or not) Yes about two months after we started seeing each other I had a few days off which I had had booked for personal things I needed to deal with. I just had one free day and he coincidentally would not be travelling. He called me because he remembered and left a message saying that he was wondering how my day off was going as he would like for us to have lunch.I felt so good hearing that as I was planning on just staying home that day.I returned his call and we planned to meet at 1.00 downtown as he would be on a teleconference to 12.30 pm. I said fine. He had asked me to call him when I got in town. So I arrived in town after spending the morning getting my nails and hair done and making sure that my outfit was fabulous and appropriate for a fall day. I wore heels and a cream trench coat and it seemed to turn a few heads too (lol)
I called him and I heard a little hesitation in his voice so I said hon is everything alright and he became so apologetic ,he started to say oh his teleconference was not yet done so he would be running late etc etc and he did not think he would be done in under an hour. I said that that was okay,being the woman I am I said okay I would do some shopping and when he was done he could call me and we would take it from there. He was so happy I understood. So we said goodbye and I went to browse and found a few things I could use for xmas on sale so something positive came out of that.
So I went to the little girls room - you girls know where that is (lol)I checked my make up etc and decided to continue shopping but then I thought I heard my cell phone. After I found it in my deep bag (by the way I think these bags are cute but not for women like me who can never find anything in her purse no matter how organised I think I am.) I looked at the phone and realised he had called. He said I should call him as he had finished earlier than he thought he would. I returned the call and he said since we were behind schedule we would meet at his place which was more central and then we would take it from there.
I got to his place before him so I went across the coffee shop to have a coffee. He then called me to say he was home. I told him I would finish my coffee and be there. I got to the door and we played one of our games.He came to the door and said "we are not buying anything today" and then I said "well this woman just wants the handsome man to open the door and kiss her all over." We played for another minute or so then he opened the door and hugged me and kissed me and told me how lovely I looked.
He then said darling I will be your chef today and make you a meal you won't forget.I thought it was so much sexier and more romantic than us going out which we usually did.I told him too as I was so touched and so surprised. He always lovingly surprises me. So he began and was so cute pretending to be a short order cook ,he set the table, he made me a four course meal with the main course being braised wild alaskan salmon with wild rice mmmhhh!!!!!yum yum.Dessert was pineapple and sugar coated strawberries drenched with grand marnier liquor oh to die for .
This felt really good, great background music ,great humor and conversation and him taking the rest of the afternoon off for us to be together priceless. How special was that!!!!!.
By the way I have never cooked him a meal -maybe soon (lol)
